  The Book of Revelation, the last book of the bible and often referred to as The Apocalypse, is frightening to some; comforting to others; but to most, a true mystery. Apocalyptic writing is an ancient style of literature, steeped in symbolism, that portrays the past as events occurring in the future to provide support to those living in the present. It is formulated to apply to all times.
  Learn more about this fascinating part of sacred scripture. Make plans to attend the four-session course "Book of Revelation" as presented by Fr. James R. Orr of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

  This bible study is scheduled for the Mondays of November 11 and 18; December 2 and 9, 2024 from 7:00PM to 8:00PM in Fr. O'Connell Hall, which is located on the grounds of St. Frances Cabrini, 115 Trinity Drive, Aliquippa, PA. (To download the course flyer, CLICK HERE.)

- About Fr. James Orr
  
  Rev. James R. Orr, retired priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, was ordained in 1979 by Bishop Vincent M. Leonard at St. Paul Cathedral, Oakland, and served in various capacities throughout the diocese for over 45 years, including as pastor of the former parishes of: Holy Family (New Brighton); St. Albert the Great (Baldwin); and Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (Troy Hill), which includes St. Anthony Chapel, home to more than 5,000 relics of saints.
  
  Father Orr began his ministry as the parochial vicar at the former St. Germaine Parish (Bethel Park). He also was a parochial vicar at the then parishes of: St. Joseph (South Pittsburgh), St. Sebastian (North Hills), St. Basil (Carrick), St. Joseph (Verona) and All Saints (Etna).
  
  He served as the chaplain to Mount Gallitzin Academy, Villa St. Joseph Nursing Home, and the Sisters of St. Joseph, all in Baden. He has taught in the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s Catechist Certification Program and the Post-Ordination Program. Prior to his retirement in July of 2024, he was assigned to full-time team ministry for and as the co-director of the Shrines of Pittsburgh.
  
  Father Orr attended St. Titus Elementary School (Aliquippa) and Center Township High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Penn State University; a Master of Divinity from Mount Saint Mary Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD; and a Master of Arts in Formative Spirituality from the Institute of Formative Spirituality, Duquesne University.
