The musical tradition of the universal Church is a treasure of inestimable value, greater even than that of any other art. The main reason for this pre-eminence is that, being sacred song united to the words, it forms a necessary and integral part of the solemn liturgy.
.…is responsible for enhancing the liturgy with appropriate sacred choral music and for supporting the musical participation of the congregation consistently at a particular church location and Mass throughtout most of the liturgical year.

Previous choral experience or the ability to read music is not necessary, but helpful. It is necessary to have a pleasant, trainable singing voice; a spirit of dedication and cooperation as well as a love for sacred music, the Church, and God’s people.
...consists of volunteers who sing at parish funerals, The Mercy Choir helps to enhance the liturgy, support the participation of those in attendance, and provide comfort to those who are mourning the loss of a loved one.
If you normally have time availabe in the morning, please consider joining this important ministry. The choir rehearses prior to the funeral/memorial Mass. …is responsible for enhancing the liturgies for the great feast days of the Church and important liturgical occasions which are celebrated by the entire parish at a single church site in any given year such as the Easter Vigil Mass or Confirmation. For those desiring to participate in this litugy-specific choir, please contact Alex Buiel, Parish Director of Music, at [email protected] for details. Prior membership in one of our church choirs is not required, but is highly recommended. The ability to read music is not necessary, but helpful.
The handbell choir draws members from several of the churches in our parish. Music reading is a requirement; rehearsals are held at Our Lady of Fatima Church. The group plays for various Masses throughout the liturgical year, especially during the Christmas and Easter seasons. The role of the cantor is to lead the sung prayer and support the congregation in singing at Mass and varioius paraliturgies/services. Our cantors are assigned as needed to any Mass at any of our four churches, though an effort is made to schedule cantors at the church he/she would normally attend.
