To All Mary, Queen of Saints Parishioners and Employees:
The Diocese of Pittsburgh is offering our existing parish volunteers and employees a one-time opportunity to complete their re-certification of the
Protecting God’s Children Training in-person and in a group forum. This is in an effort to ensure that Mary, Queen of Saints Parish is compliant with all of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh requirements, which include all volunteers and employees complete
Protecting God’s Children Training every three years.
This in-person re-certification training will take place on
ONE DAY ONLY --
Saturday, July 22, 2023, at St. Frances Cabrini, O’Connell Hall, from 9:00AM to 11:30AM. If you are an existing volunteer or employee of our parish or of St. Frances Cabrini Preschool, and are interested in attending this re-certification training in-person, please register using the online form at
https://forms.gle/U9zBdMi3XB8W56gVA as soon as possible.
Online registration extended thru Friday, July 21, 2023.
This is
NOT for
NEW volunteers or employees. You must have completed
Protecting God’s Children Training online initially. This is a
re-certification training only.
This is the only time re-certification training will be offered in-person. If you need to complete
Protecting God’s Children Training but cannot attend on July 22, 2023, you will need to log on to
https://www.virtus.org/ to complete it.
As a reminder, in addition to this training, the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh requires all volunteers and employees to be compliant with specific clearances as well. These include
Child Abuse History Clearances and
FBI Clearances.
If you are an active employee or volunteer of our parish or preschool (including catechist, extraordinary minister of the Euchatist, lector, choir member, cantor, usher, wedding coordinator, etc.) and are unsure if you are compliant, please contact our parish Safe Environment Coordinator, Dana Havey, by email at
[email protected] or by phone at 878.201.2468 and ask her to check your status.
Thank you for your attention to this very important matter.
Fr. Canice McMullen
Pastor of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish
