Our Lady of Fatima Parish was established on June 9, 1954. Its creation was due to the growth of population in the area. The first Mass was celebrated on Sunday, June 13, 1954, in the dining room of Sheffield Towers. The parish, under Rev. Cornelius J Finneran, used this banquet hall for Sunday Masses. The parish rented a small building in August of 1954 to use for offering the Sacrament of Penance (Confession) and the celebration of daily Masses. The first Mass in this small chapel took place on September 13, 1954. Baptisms and marriages were celebrated at St. Titus Church, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.
With Fr. Finneran leading his parishioners, these space arrangements continued while the parish built a school, complete as planned with an auditorium/gymnasium that would temporarily be used as the parish church. Land was purchased on November 4, 1954 and ground for the new school building was broken on August 7, 1955. The cornerstone was laid on October 16, 1955 and the building was dedicated on March 3, 1956. Some ten years later, on june 7, 1966, Rev. James V. Kelly was named pastor and remained at Our Lady of Fatima until August 31, 1971.
By the mid-1980s, under Rev. William F. Kohler who was assigned as pastor on September 1, 1971, the parish was finally ready to build a permanent, free-standing church. Upon its completion, the Church of Our Lady of Fatima was dedicated on November 8, 1987. Fr. Kohler continued as pastor until May 22, 1994.
After Fr. Kohler's was given a new assignment, the parish was assigned the following pastors: Fr. Thomas McKenna from May 23, 1994 to January 5, 1998; Fr. David A. Driesch from February 16, 1998 to July 5, 2003; and Fr. Howard Campbell from August 9, 2003 to September 30, 2017. Fr. Campbell was also named administrator of St. Titus Parish in July 11, 2016.
In October 2, 2017, Rev. Martin R. Bartel, O.S.B. began his service as administrator until October 15, 2018 when he was named administrator of the MACH1 Parish Grouping on October 15, 2018. Upon Fr. Bartel's election as Archabbot of St. Vincent Archabbey, Fr. Jean-Luc Zadroga, O.S.B. became the administrator pro-tem on July 6, 2020.
In November 2020, the process of gathering parish name suggestions from parishioners for submission to the Diocese was completed. On May 29, 2021, Bishop David Zubik officially announced the name of the future parish, made up of the then parishes of St. John the Baptist (Monaca), St. Titus (Aliquippa), St. Frances Cabrini (Center Township), and Our Lady of Fatima (Hopewell Township) and to be established on July 1, 2021, to be ‘Mary, Queen of Saints’. Each church would retain its original patronal name.
